Black Friday Is Over, But The Video Games Deals Are Better Right Now | Dramel Notes

Posted On // Leave a Comment

If you think that just because Black Friday and Cyber Monday have officially passed that the deals are gone, you need to think again! Disappointingly, video games deals were pretty sparse on both days, but now they’re all over the place.

Seriously, the video game deals available right now are actually better! We’ve dug through Amazon and found the best of the best for you. If you have a gamer in your life, or if you just want some cool video game related stuff for yourself, you’ll love the deals we’ve found below!

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain ($34.99, 42% Off)

I’ve played a lot of video games this year, and when it comes down to the best, Metal Gear Solid V sits atop the list. Fallout 4 and Witcher 3 are close behind, but Metal Gear delivers in so many ways. For $34.99, you’d be insane not to pick it up, as it offers hours of gameplay that’s genuinely some of the most fun I’ve ever had playing a game.

The Talos Principle ($29.99, 40% Off)

This game is a little different, as it’s a puzzle game with a very open style of gameplay. It has over 120 different puzzles presented in a 3D style that looks absolutely beautiful. It’s one of those games that’s hard to describe in a couple short sentences, but the best thing I can say is that it’s a ton of fun, and at $29.99, it’s a great value!

Skylanders SuperChargers Starter Pack ($33.99, 55% Off)

When it comes to video games that incorporate toys into the experience, Skylanders is the one that really got the ball rolling, and it keeps its momentum in the latest release, which is getting positive reviews from both players and the media. The Starter Pack comes with the game, 1 Portal of Power, 2 Skylanders SuperChargers Characters, 1 Skylanders SuperChargers Vehicle, and 1 Collection Poster, so it has everything you need to get started.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 ($34.99, 42% Off)

In the battle between FIFA and PES, it’s hard to pick a winner. However, if you’re on the fence, getting one $34.99 might just put you over the edge towards the Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 side of things! If you love soccer, you’re going to get a ton of gameplay out of this.

Nintendo Wii U 32GB Mario Kart 8 Bundle ($249.99, 17% Off)

If you’ve been thinking about picking up a Wii U to get in on the Mario Maker fun, now is the best time to buy, as you can save $50 off the full price. Plus, you get a bonus copy of Mario Kart 8, which is a fun game to play by yourself or with friends!

Xbox One Kinect Sensor with Dance Central Spotlight ($99.00, 34% Off)

Did you buy a new Xbox One without a Kinect, only to realize that you actually wish you could control the console with your voice? Well, don’t worry, because you can get the physical device with a copy of Dance Central Spotlight for $50 for a limited time. Now you too can say “Xbox On” and “Xbox Record That” to your console and watch it do as you command!

Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Controller ($35, 42% Off)

The Xbox 360 controller is still one of the best controllers ever made. If you’re looking for a wireless controller to play on PC, or you need a second one for your actual console, snagging this one at just $35 is a smart pickup!

Tesoro Excalibur Spectrum Mechanical Gaming Keyboard ($89.99, 36% Off)

Keeping on the PC gaming side of things, here we have a slick mechanical keyboard that’s perfect for all of your needs. It has a 4.5 star rating on Amazon, so you know it’s a qulaity piece of hardware that can handle whatever games you throw at it!

TCL 28-Inch 720p Roku Smart LED TV ($169.99, 26% Off)

How often do you see a quality TV with a 4-star rating for well under $200? That’s the kind of deal that only comes around on Cyber Monday, and for the rest of the day today, you can take one home! Don’t wait, though, because there’s a chance that they might run out before the day is over, and you’ll have missed out.

BenQ W1070 1080p 3D DLP Home Theater Projector ($689, 37% Off)

We understand, sometimes a nice TV just won’t do the job. Sometimes, you just need something bigger, which is where we’ve found this 3D projector that can project a screen of up to 235-inches. Now, you can see all of your video games in a movie theater-like size.

Crucial 1TB 2.5-Inch Internal Solid State Drive ($263.99, 43% Off)

When it comes to SSDs, anything over 500GB is generally prohibitively expensive, but not on Cyber Monday, when you can get a massive 1TB drive for just $263.99. This means you can get the speed and performance you want from an SSD, with a quantity of storage you’d expect from an HDD.

This is a very solid router with a 4-star rating that would normally sell for $204.99 if it weren’t Cyber Monday. It has dual band, so you can use it to get away from the 2.4 Ghz crowd and get as much speed as possible. Plus, it’s a really slick looking router, which is always a nice bonus.

Check Out These Great Cyber Monday Deals from Our Partners [Updated] | Dramel Notes

Posted On // Leave a Comment

We’re not big fans of Black Friday around here — most of us don’t leave our house because we don’t want to deal with the crowds. Luckily there’s a lot of good online deals on Cyber Monday, and we’ve picked out a few deals from our partners that might be worth a look.

All of the deals that we are linking to are for companies that we’ve partnered with after reviewing their products and making sure that they are worth it. Many of the apps, like Parallels, 1Password, Evernote, Pocket, SnagIt, Malwarebytes, VMWare, and Dashlane, are things that we actually use every day, and the others are things that we use sometimes.

It’s worth noting that these are partners, which means we do get paid a small commission if you buy anything from the deals on this page. Although we get paid very little because they are all on sale.

CleanMyMac 3 and Gemini Duplicate File Finder for Mac OS X: 30% Off

If you’ve managed to run yourself out of space on your Mac, which isn’t hard considering how stingy they are with storage space, you might be interested in CleanMyMac 3, which does a great job of safely cleaning up junk files on your Mac. Or with Gemini, their duplicate file finder, which can be used to clean up

Long-time How-To Geek fans might be wondering why we are talking about a Mac cleaner app when we’re so against recommending them on Windows, and the answer is simple: OS X doesn’t include a good cleaner application like Disk Cleanup for Windows, has a lot more places to hide files, and applications do not cleanly uninstall on Mac like you would expect — a lot of junk gets left behind. We’d really prefer that Apple include their own way to clean it up, but they don’t.

In any case, CleanMyMac 3 is 30% off today only — so you’ll have to try it out and buy it today to get the discount. They only run this deal once a year.

Jumpshare Plus: 37% Off

Jumpshare, created by the people over at Addictive Tips, is a great way to share files with people, and it has an integrated file viewer that supports hundreds of file formats. The Plus version gives you a lot more features and 1TB of storage. And it’s 37% off today only.

The Parallels Mac App Bundle: 7 Great Apps for Free

Parallels is the very best choice for running Windows or Linux on your Mac, and it’s something that we all use here at How-To Geek — we’ve actually paid for licenses and upgrades for years now.

But now if you buy a new copy or upgrade to Parallels Desktop 11, you’ll get 1Password (my personal favorite password manager for Mac and iPhone), Evernote Premium, Pocket Premium, SnagIt, Camtasia, PDFpen, and Parallels Access… for free. Definitely a solid deal.

Dashlane Premium: 50% Off

If you’re in the market for a new password manager, Dashlane has an extremely slick interface that works great across all platforms. The basic version is free, but if you want to sync your passwords across your devices, you’ll need Dashlane premium, which is 50% off for Black Friday.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium: 18 Month Subscription for $25 (Normally $37)

Malwarebytes is one of the best malware-fighting companies out there, and we have been recommending them for a long time. Regular antivirus doesn’t really remove all the spyware and adware that accidentally gets installed, but Malwarebytes removes it easily.

This isn’t a huge discount, but if you’ve been thinking about upgrading anyway, you’ll get a little more for your money if you upgrade now.

Connectify Hotspot Pro / Max: 75% Off

Hotspot Pro is a great way to turn your Windows laptop into a Wi-Fi hotspot for your other devices — sure, there are command line tricks you can use, but this app just works. You can use it to extend a hotel’s Wi-Fi connection to all of your devices, or just to extend your network to somewhere it doesn’t reach.

We are actually using this on a wired computer in the basement to extend the Wi-Fi into one corner that doesn’t get signal. And it’s 75% off for Black Friday.

More Deals You Might Be Interested In

And just to round out the offers, here are a few more deals that you might find interesting.

  • BitDefender AntiVirus: 60% Off. We’re not huge fans of the interface (just personal preference really), but BitDefender is always ranked at the top in terms of antivirus detection and removal. So if you’re happily using the free version already and want to upgrade, now’s probably the time.
  • VMWare Workstation and VMWare Fusion: 40% Off. This is an excellent virtual machine solution for Windows or Mac, but it’s normally kinda pricey, so 40% off is a big help. According to their deals page, once they’ve sold 1000 copies, the discount will go down to 30%, so if you’re interested, probably best to act quickly.
  • Digiarty WinX DVD Ripper/Copy/Converter Lifetime: Up to 80% Off – if you want to rip lots and lots of DVDs, convert videos from one format to another, or just make a copy of a DVD, this is a really easy solution. We’ve partnered with them for giveaways for the last few years, but this is for the version that comes with lifetime upgrades.

Hopefully some of these deals will help you save some money and keep you from running out to the store and getting trampled to buy something you don’t need.
